The poems in Songs of Praise were written while sitting in the choir stand and listening to Rev. Frank Calloway preach. Every Sunday he said something that inspired me and opened my mind to writing a poem. I started writing these poems in 1974 and didn’t stop. In 1995, I decided I had enough poems for a book. I still added more poems to this collection, and I’m still being inspired every day to continue to write inspirational poetry.
Karolyn E. Jennings was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan in a family of writers and musicians. She chose writing as a hobby at the age of 12 which turned into a serious occupation in her early 20’s when she started entering Poetry Contests and winning first place contests and offers for appearing in public formats to recite her poetry.
Songs of Praise is an intimate journey of faith through the eyes of the reader. Much like ‘The Songs in the Key of Solomon’ by John and Anita Renfroe, each poem is a song of faith in itself and will make your heart sing.
